Vee is coming to Microsoft 365 Copilot, and your daily workflow will never be the same.

We recently announced a host of innovations to Vee, the generative AI-powered digital assistant for people insights from Visier. One major highlight under the banner of our “Vee anywhere” approach is the upcoming integration between Vee and Microsoft 365 Copilot.

With this integration setup, when you ask Copilot a question about people, you can get an instant answer powered by Vee—all without leaving the email, document, or spreadsheet, you’re working on!

It’s the perfect way to encourage anyone in your organization (especially those outside of HR) to incorporate people insights into their daily communications, documents, presentations, and business cases. And as we know, many micro decisions made in alignment with your people strategy can add up to big business impact.

In this post, we’ll dive into five specific common use cases that highlight the power of the integration between Vee and Microsoft 365 Copilot, and why you should strongly consider deploying it in your organization.

People insights, even more tightly integrated into your flow of work

When leaders can seamlessly access Vee's powerful people analytics within familiar Microsoft applications, they can instantly get the insights they need to make more strategic decisions that positively shape the organization's most valuable asset—its people. Let's explore how different leaders can use this integration:

  1. A CHRO preparing a PowerPoint presentation for the board

  2. A manager making a business case for additional headcount

  3. A VP voicing a concern about retention and compensation

  4. An HR leader preparing an internal deck about manager succession

  5. An HR leader preparing a growth plan

1. A CHRO preparing a PowerPoint presentation for the board

The CHRO of a construction materials distributor is preparing her quarterly update for the board using Microsoft PowerPoint. Typically, gathering all of the data she needs to include would require hours of preparation and coordination with multiple teams. Instead, she uses Microsoft 365 Copilot to ask questions about key metrics like headcount and can paste the answers (powered by Vee) directly into her slide deck without switching apps.

CHRO questions to ask Vee:

  • How has our headcount changed this quarter?

  • What percentage of managers are women?

  • In which areas of the business is headcount cost rising the fastest?

See more CHRO questions Vee can answer here.

2. A manager making a business case for additional headcount

After a strong year of company growth and several consecutive months of increased overtime on his team, a floor manager at a medical testing facility is creating a business case for additional headcount. His case relies on accurate information that would normally be time-consuming or cumbersome to obtain if it wasn’t for Vee. Having access to the data right alongside Microsoft Excel makes it even easier to build projections that clearly illustrate the need for additional staff.

Manager questions to ask Vee:

  • How much overtime has been worked in the past three months, and who worked it?

  • How does overtime impact employee engagement?

  • What’s the average time to productivity of my direct reports?

3. A VP voicing a concern about retention and compensation

In a field with a very competitive marketplace for talent such as robotics, a divisional VP of engineering is writing an email to his CTO about the fact that he is concerned about the increasing number of highly skilled developers leaving the company. He suspects that compensation is a major factor, and he is curious whether other teams within the company are experiencing the same challenge.

In the email, he wants to include some salient information such as answers to the questions below. All this information is available to him in the very same browser tab as Microsoft Outlook itself, thanks to the integration with Vee.

VP questions to ask Vee:

  • How do the compensation packages for senior software developers compare to the industry benchmark?

  • Compare the compa ratio with the resignation rate for senior software developers.

  • Who are the specific senior software developers at risk of resignation?

4. An HR leader preparing an internal deck about manager succession

Floor managers at an aerospace manufacturing plant are highly skilled. It can take a year or more for a manager to operate at full effectiveness after being promoted into a management position because of the technical nature of the role. That’s why manager succession is a critical topic that HR takes very seriously.

An HR leader is using Microsoft PowerPoint to create an internal presentation on the topic of manager succession for her divisional leadership team. She wants to brief them on the current state of manager attrition and successor coverage. As she builds her slides, she turns to Copilot to get the most up-to-date insights that she needs to include.

HR leader questions to ask Vee:

  • Which managers are currently at risk of leaving the organization?

  • How has our manager instability ratio changed year over year?

  • What is successor pool coverage compared year over year?

5. An HR leader preparing a growth plan

An HR Leader is partnered with the Customer Support department at a telco. That team is planning to increase headcount by 30% next year. The HR leader is drafting a growth plan document that will help the Customer Support leadership prepare for the headcount expansion in a measured, data-driven way. He asks Microsoft 365 Copilot questions about hiring, turnover, and span of control and includes the answers that Vee provides in the Microsoft Word document they are working on.

HR leader questions to ask Vee:

  • What is our typical time to hire?

  • What is the forecasted turnover for the next year?

  • Show me each manager’s span of control.

Delivering seamless, data-driven insights to every leader

Together, Vee and Microsoft Copilot put insights directly into the hands of business, HR, and people leaders so they can make better decisions that drive strategic initiatives across the organization. From board-level reporting to retention strategies, the ability to instantly access deep, contextual insights within familiar Microsoft 365 applications enables leaders across the business to respond more quickly and effectively to organizational challenges.

This integration is part of our journey toward making Vee even more accessible to users across the organizations, not just executives or those who are data-savvy. For more about the many ways Vee can fit into your organization's workflows, see the latest Vee enhancements.
