Top takeaways from HR tech 2024

The HR Tech 2024 conference wrapped in Las Vegas last week, and we at Visier all agree it was the best one yet. Tens of thousands of attendees gathered to learn more about the technology solutions that would help them solve critical workforce challenges.

Visier brought its Workforce AI Edge message to the Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas during the week of the HR Tech conference

Visier showed up in full force with its Workforce AI Edge message throughout the Las Vegas airport, continuing to an active booth where the demos never stopped (Have 30 minutes? Schedule a demo!), and as host of an opening-night party at Skyfall Lounge where upwards of 500 friends and colleagues packed the room to enjoy custom cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres. But it was the conversations happening on the show floor, in sessions, and in hallways that were the most captivating. See below for our top takeaways.

Gaining a Workforce AI Edge with Visier

Service data x people data video

Quickly answer complex business questions by combining service data with people data, enhanced with AI insights

Visier's Workforce AI Edge message is all about what happens when companies use Visier to accelerate the impact of AI on the workforce. Booth visitors consistently arrived asking to see how work data combined with people data can address real business use cases, and the Salesforce and ServiceNow demo environments that we set up were ideal for demonstrating our ability to address these use cases.

The analysts were abuzz about AI

In Josh Bersin’s keynote address, “An Existential Change Driven by AI”, he focused on a holistic review of trends and vendors across different steps of employee talent journeys over the last decade, shining a spotlight on the impact of AI today. His HR Tech 2025 - AI Redefines the Landscape report was the basis of his presentation, and provides his outlook for 2025 across all aspects of HR.  The overarching message was one of encouragement, inspiring attendees to not be intimidated by AI technology, but rather to lean into its transformational potential by understanding the emerging use cases. He wrapped up his presentation with a list of HR Tech AI Trailblazers, including Visier’s Vee.

The interest played out in the well-attended sessions and packed expo hall floor, where some of the hottest topics included employee experience, talent acquisition and retention, workforce planning, and talent transformation through a focus on skills. Stacey Harris presented the results from Sapient Insight’s 2024-2025 HR Systems Survey, revealing that HR teams that are using AI and machine learning (ML) are seeing as much as a 7-8% lift in business outcomes beyond operational efficiency,  directly impacting innovation, profitability, and market share.

We’re also proud to highlight that Visier ranked #1 in both customer satisfaction and user experience for the third year in a row in the HR analytics space according to the Sapient Insights survey.

Visier product announcements

Visier announced new product innovations during the HR Tech conference, including market-leading enhancements to Vee, Visier’s AI digital assistant, and a showcase of solutions built on Visier’s platform that combine people data with work data to reveal new insights. We were proud to also win the top awards for Vee, our AI digital assistant. Here are the highlights.

Visier’s Chief Product Officer, Keith Bigelow, reacts to winning the Top HR Tech Product of the Year Award from HR Executive; Sapient Insights named Visier tops in both User Experience and Vendor Satisfaction for the third year in a row

HR Executive awarded Visier’s Vee with both a Top HR Tech Products of the Year award, and the overall Excellence in HR Tech Innovation award on-stage at the conference. According to Top Products judges, Vee stands out by offering data-driven insights designed to support HR leaders, managers and CHROs in their decision-making, and thus was named the most innovative tool in 2024.

Vee 2.0

Visier's Vee AI technology integrates with Microsoft Copilot for AI insights in the flow of work

While Vee, Visier’s AI digital assistant launched in 2023, we revealed a host of impressive updates for 2024, including Microsoft Copilot and Teams integration. We’ve received an overwhelmingly positive response to Vee since we introduced it. It’s now in use by millions of users. All of this has inspired us to expand what it can do even further.

Vee Boards

Vee Boards are AI insight-enhanced executive dashboards

Visier introduced Vee Boards, AI-augmented insight boards, laser-focused on specific issues of the highest priority to the C-suite. Each one is prebuilt and tailored to the top concerns of a specific executive or group of executives. The Smart Insights pane within Vee Boards provides more than AI summaries—it draws attention to trends, patterns, and outliers and makes suggestions about where executives could focus to make the biggest impact on KPIs.

Excitement continues to grow for embedded analytics

It was incredible to see our embedded partners showcased on the showroom floor. From global talent acquisition leaders like SmartRecruiters to Paychex, which empowers businesses of all sizes to hire, pay, manage, and retain their workforce, it’s clear that people analytics have become essential for all HR technology vendors. We’re proud to be the platform engine behind many of these innovative solutions. Furthermore, the team is being pulled into many conversations with new hr tech vendors we have not yet partnered with. The market and their customers are asking for speed, and embedding Visier people analytics and building on our platform is a very attractive opportunity for them.
