Visier Introduces New “What If” Capability to Empower Leaders to Understand Impact of Future Actions
Vancouver, BC and San Jose, CA |
The future of people analytics: new What-If Analysis takes business value of people analytics to even higher levels
Visier, the recognized leader in people analytics and planning, announced an innovative new analytic capability the company will be demonstrating at HR Tech, the world’s largest HR technology conference, taking place September 11-13: answering “what if” questions about the future that factor in and compare different decision paths.
Traditionally, analytic technologies have focused on answering questions about what has happened in the past, what is happening today, and – using predictive methods – what is likely to happen in the future. However, most have not addressed what will happen if a certain action is taken or change is made. For instance, what will happen to top performer resignation rates if they are given a pay raise of 4 percent instead of 6 percent; how much will an organization save in labor costs if exchange rates decrease; or, what will an enterprise’s diversity distribution be at the end of of the year if the female hire rate is increased by 2 percent.
“Our customers have shown us that one of their most powerful uses of Visier People is when it is used in live interactive decision-making conversations with leaders,” said Adam Binnie, Visier’s Chief Product Officer. “In particular, when leaders are discussing the different actions an organization could take to solve problems or drive better outcomes. We have now developed a capability that will enable our customers to do just that: to explore different actions and compare their likely outcomes.”
“The science around talent has been heading toward this moment, being able to explore the options around people choices and confidently choose a path. Choices that unlock competitive advantage through people — it’s what will separate the winners from the losers. Any HR function operating without people analytics is, in essence, guessing — and that’s not a good place to be,” said Paul Rubenstein, Visier’s Chief People Officer. “Visier’s new What If capability means our customers will be able to test different options, plan better talent choices, and advance HR’s ability to make commercial contribution to the business. ”
Visier’s What-If Analysis enables users to adjust the assumptions to review the impact of business changes
Visier will deploy the new What If capability in a number of best practice analyses, which will be available “out of the box” in Visier People. At the HR Tech conference, Visier will be demonstrating some examples of the What If capability, including their use in projecting headcount, merit planning, and demand-driven staffing.
